The 90-Day Window
The daily frame gives you urgency without direction. The annual frame gives you direction without urgency. The quarter is the only window where both resolve at once.
The Promise
The daily frame gives you urgency without direction. The annual frame gives you direction without urgency. The quarter is the only window where both resolve at once, plus the correction cadence that turns results into a learning system.
How It Works
- Reframe the year as four cycles, not twelve months. Stop asking what you'll do this year. Ask what each of the four cycles is about. A quarter has a launch, an execution period, and a close; a month just ends.
- Distinguish the four phases within each quarter. Load and Structure in the first weeks, Execute in the middle, Review in the final week. Skip any phase and it degrades the others.
- Set up before the quarter starts. Run the Year Chain, the Pre-Commitment Test, and the Priority Cut before Day 1, or two weeks vanish and urgency makes the decisions for you.
In Practice
Ninety days is short enough that the end is always in sight, long enough to move lag indicators you can score, and frequent enough for four honest corrections a year. The urgency threshold and the human performance arc both peak around ten to twelve weeks. Build four complete, scored, closed cycles a year and each close seeds the next launch, so December answers "what did you build?" with documents, not a feeling.
